Place: Yerevan, Armenia

Who may participate: Young Scientists (up to 35 years) held a Bachelor or higher degree.

The main scientific topics of the conference include biochemical, molecular and cellular biology as well as related and cross-linked fields of biomedical sciences.

Working language: English, Russian, Armenian

Registration and articles submission

Oral / Poster presentations. Duration of the oral presentation should be 10-15 minutes.
Working languages of the conference are English, Armenian and Russian.

Dear friends and AAB members,

FEBS Education workshop on Biochemistry and Molecular Biology was held in Yerevan, 8-9th October, 2012, in YFA Youth Center. It was organized by the FEBS Education Committee and hosted by the Armenian Association of Biochemists and coordinated by the Association of Young Biologists. The aim of this workshop was to promote biochemistry and biomolecular biology education by introducing new trends in education as well as presenting tips for the future scientists and creating a platform for postgraduate students and young scientists to share and learn, from the experts, current issues in biochemistry and molecular bioscience education. An important focus of the workshop was to develop the “scientific skills” (project writing, critically reading literature, CV writing) of students, post-graduate students, as well as giving the faculty an opportunity to explore ways of how to teach such skills. "Meet the Expert Sessions" segment of the Workshop provided a face to face interaction for faculty and for future members of science, on issues treated during the general sessions. Workshop trainers were from Turkey (Gul Guner Akdogan, Chair of the FEBS Education Committee), Germany (Mathias Sprinzl, Chair of the FEBS WGI, Wolfgang Nellen, Co-Opted member - FEBS Educatin Committee), Unated Kingdom (Keith Elliott, Co-Opted member - FEBS Educatin Committee), Spain (Angel Herraez, Member - FEBS Educatin Committee) and Czeck Republic (Tomáš Zima, Member - FEBS Educatin Committee). Faculty, post-docs and PhD/MSc/BSc students from biochemistry and all disciplines of molecular biosciences participated in the workshop. All the attendees received their Certificates of Attendance during the Closing ceremony. We thank all the participants of the workshop for their activity and enthusiasm.
